No hand-mixer is required, Deborah, but you can certainly use one if you have one available. It can help mash up the bananas more easily and make a smoother purée. Just be sure not to over-mix the batter once the flour has been added in order to avoid making a loaf that's dense or tough. Happy baking! Kye@KAF
