Juniors is a tourist trap now, and the only cheesecake worth getting is plain; the strawberry featured huge, hard, underripe strawberries glued down with a rubbery layer of red glop. Even the plain cheesecake is easily duplicated using a good homemade recipe like Maida Heatter's or Rose Levy Berenbaum's. The really beloved NYC treat is the "black and white cookie," even though most of them are pretty bad, too!
