Hi, Emmie. We'll bow to your decades of family preference; I know the meringue is a staple for a lot of creamy Southern pies. I have had it with both styles of crust in Florida and elsewhere; I think the graham cracker crust is probably from food companies marketing a convenience angle. Susan
