FYI: In its October 2017 issue, Cook's Illustrated rated a metal pie plate the best, and downgraded its former favorite glass pie plates for the same reasons cited in this article. Since getting a pizza stone (which lives on the lowest rack of my oven), I bake all pies, tarts and quiches in metal pans directly on the pizza stone, and all the bottom crusts are perfectly cooked.
