If the Pyrex is shattering in the oven, that means the oven is too hot. You shouldn't put Pyrex in a hot oven straight from the refrigerator or freezer, and don't turn the oven up over 350. When you remove hot Pyrex from the oven, put it on something insulated, not on a cold countertop. My mother's Pyrex didn't need to be babied like this, but modern Pyrex is made differently and doesn't hold up well with sudden heat or cold shocks, unfortunately.
