Hi Eleanor, it sounds like perhaps your cake wasn't baked fully, which make it extra soft and delicate. When baking Bundt cakes, it's important to use an extra long skewer or toothpick to test down into the depths of the cake. Next time you might want to try using a piece of uncooked spaghetti as a tester. It should come out clean when the cake has finished baking.
