I have always greased the pan well with butter using a pastry brush, then dusted with flour (or cocoa for a chocolate cake). I have never had a stuck cake, but will remember the tea towel solution in case I do. Also, thank you to Jerry for his Wilton StepSaver formula of oil, shortening and flour: that sounds like a winner!
