This may sound crazy, but it often works for me: ketchup. Whenever I have residue that sticks to my pans, I cover the area with ketchup, wait 15 minutes (or more, if it’s really stubborn,) then wash it out. This works for many things - polishing and removing white spotting from stainless steel fry pans, polishing old aluminum fixtures, etc. The acid in the ketchup eats the stuck residue but doesn’t harm your surface. If your pan is not nonstick, try Barkeepers Friend. The new brush from Nordic Ware sold by KAF looks like it will be effective. Good luck!
