I had a very ornate, heavy bundt pan which I used several times with good success. Then came the day a few weeks ago when I baked a 'birthday surprise' for a favored librarian and NOTHING I tried worked to release the cake. Now I offer solution # 5. Deliver the cake still in the pan with a few attractive forks (NOT PLASTC!!) and include the pan as part of the gift. Worked for me.
