Thanks for the valuable tips! My daughter and I made 2 apple pies last w/e. One was a double crust and the other had a lattice top. One of the bottom crusts was not completely baked. Next time we will heed your advice and bake them on the bottom rack. I usually bake cakes, so I avoid the bottom rack. The pies were delicious, btw! Made even more special because my daughter picked the apples we used!
