Funny how this recipe appealed to me: I worked a department store in my youth, here in Toronto Canada. I would enjoy a blueberry muffin at the cafe on the top floor of The Bay! Sugar topped, which is the distinction that landed me on this recipe. This recipe isn't quite a match, but still a very good flavour.
I followed the instructions literally and used my electric beater. Flavour was superb, but muffin turned out very heavy and dense, almost scone-like. After reading some comments, I might have over-mixed. I will try beating by hand next time. Lovely taste. Also, I agree with some other comments that 1/4 - 1/2 tsp of sugar is more than sufficient to top muffin. I used a full tsp and had to brush some off after baking.
