Adding more water here sounds like the right call, Jennifer. Our best guess is that you got a little more flour into your cup than intended. This can easily happen when measuring flour by volume and will lead to a drier, heavier mixture. For best results, we recommend either measuring your flour by weight or using the KAF fluff, sprinkle and sweep method detailed here. This will help ensure that you get the relatively light cup of flour our recipes intend. And not to worry, auto-correct happens to everyone.
