Thanks for explaining this Barb. I’ve been reading and rereading the blog posts about making no knead bread looking for the info in your reply. After I bought the Emile Henry Crock I was confused thinking I had bought the wrong one, and maybe I have because I want the loftier tall loaf, but shaping aside, I was concerned about placing my new crock in a preheated oven empty. So, if I’m reading this correctly I can and I will. I made the dough today and will bake my first loaf tomorrow. I’m so excited!
