Thanks Niwashikun, did King Arthur answer this very interesting question about a, b, and c? I now put my Dutch oven in as I preheat, and when oven beeps at 450F, I take out the Dutch and insert the bread. This way the Dutch may not have gotten all the way to 450 on its inside.
