Well, I made these baguettes today. My baguettes turned out wonderful! I would use this recipe again. Only problem I had was wanting to bake them and add the water. I have an electric oven. I couldn’t pour water in a cast iron pan without spilling all over my elements. I tried the cast iron method, but mine are not enameled as suggested. Anyway, long story short, I put a pan of water in oven, heated it up good as recipe said, but I baked my bread in baguette pan that holds three. I also sprayed water on them like every 5 min for 3-4 times. It worked out beautifully. My bread turned out a beautiful golden brown, crispy outside and soft inside. Wow. Next time I will try the 1 t yeast method and let it rise for longer period, because it said the taste is intensifyed and I cannot wait to try that method. I would submit a picture if I could, but I cannot find on this site to do it. I also slashed three different designs, which I bought my lame here at King Arthur, the walnut handle one. I recommend that fir sure. Thank you!
