Adding steam by pouring boiling water into a pan seems to cool the oven temperature significantly for me.
My baking steel dropped from around 420F to 350F after i opened the oven and added boiling water. I probably had the door open 5 to 10 seconds
I know i can get this number down a bit but my oven temp dropped from 450 to 350F !!!!

How do you do this without losing so much heat from the oven
