Hi Geri, yes, you can just turn the baked loaf out onto a cooling rack. However, using parchment paper is an equally effective method, and helps ensure that the bread won't stick to the pot. If you have any issues with the parchment sticking to the dough, lightly spraying the parchment paper with baking spray can be helpful.
