We're so glad you gave this technique a try, Rhonda, we're sorry to hear that the texture of your bread isn't quite what you were looking for though! Most often when a loaf is dense throughout, it's because it became over-proofed during the rising process. We'd recommend shortening the second rise time a bit to see if this helps next time around.
