According to the blog, both methods yield the same result (The blog’s author wrote that she initially made the mistake of thinking that the hot method was better only to find out that it was better because of the shape of the pot and not the method). Because the cold start method is safer for both the pot and your hands, it seems the superior method, and KA should revise the recipe to use the cold start method.
