Sorry to hear you've ended up in a sticky situation, Dave. To release a loaf of bread that's stuck to the bottom of a Dutch oven, use a thin spatula or a dough scraper to losen the edges of the bread from the sides of the pot. Let it cooly slightly and repeat, trying to lift up the bread slightly each time you work your way around the pot. If all else fails, wait for the bread to cool completely and then remove as much of the loaf as possible, sacrificing the bottom to the pot. (It's better to have a half a loaf of bread than no bread at all!)

To prevent the bread from sticking in the first place, grease your Dutch oven with a non-stick spray and then sprinkle a bit of cornmeal or semolina flour into the bottom of the pot. This creates a buffer between the bottom of the pot and the dough, which ensures easy release. Good luck!
