I made a loaf of your no-knead Harvest Bread using the insert that comes with my slow cooker, and heavy-duty foil as a lid. It came out pretty well! Question: to avoid the preheat issues with cracking, could a crock or pot be filled part way with water for the preheat and then the water dumped just prior to adding the dough? Especially since steam is the goal?
