Rae - yes absolutely. If the knob on your lid bakelite style plastic however, you'll want to remove that first. It may be fine (the newer knobs are rated into the upper 400 degrees, the olders ones only around 350 degrees) but better safe than sorry. You can purchase a metal replacement knob for Le Creuset ovens and then not worry about it a bit.
