Shelly, I'm not from KAB but just read your comment and I just took my 2 loaves of multi grain sourdough out of the oven and they both have cracked, one on top and the other on the side near the bottom. I was wondering at the time if they needed to be slashed too! Mine turned out very heavy but not sure what they will look like inside as they haven't cooled enough yet. I was disappointed as I have made several other sourdough recipes that turned out great. Maybe KAB will answer for both of us.
