Regarding #5 grease and sugar the pan; it was an EPIC FAIL. About a quarter inch of cake stuck to the sides, the rest of the cake came out. What a mess. I tried putting it back in the oven, as suggested, and it did not make any difference. Wish I just used flour (or cocoa since it was a chocolate cake). Hubby's birthday cake is pile of pieces. (I was using a dark, nonstick pan, followed the directions for the Chocolate Fudge Bundt Cake, greased with shortening and sugar.)
