These are great suggestions and can’t wait to try them after I had a snafu with my broken, crumbly, but still delicious birthday Bundt cake this afternoon (may mom won’t mind)! I am wondering, though, why you recommend melted shortening. I remember as a child growing up we would apply unmelted shortening with a paper towel. Will that work as well? I usually use cooking spray, but today I tried using vegetable oil and had trouble with it being too runny.
