I was ready to throw out my NordicWare Christmas wreath pan as the cake stuck, terribly etc. This is the first time I used it and I coated the pan very well with shortening and dusted with flour. The cake stuck in many places, especially in the many tiny crevices in the design. It was a disaster! I decided to try one more time today after reading through all the comments on the blog. There are so many great ideas - I decided to try Mark's 1/22/17 note of 1 c. Shortening, 1 c. Flour and 1/2 c. Veg oil, mixing into a smooth paste. With a brush grease the pan with the paste, then right out of the oven used another bloggers tip of using fingers to pull edges away about 1/2" from edge of pan which worked easily and and perfectly, and then cooled 5 mins upright, 5 mins upside down. It all worked perfectly!!! Cake came right out after the last 5 ,mos of cooling. Now I'm excited to buy more designed NordicWare pans! Thank you everyone for your great tips!
