Cathern, a removeable bottom can make it easier to remove your cake from the pan. You can even use a thin knife to separate the bottom of the cake from the base of the pan, if necessary. This can be trickier if done in a pan without a removeable bottom. That being said, it sounds like you haven't had any trouble thus far in your baking, so feel free to carry on as you have been. There's no need to fix what's not broken. Enjoy! Kye@KAF
