We're surprised to hear about the results on your initial bake, as heavy aluminum Bundt pans tend to conduct heat evenly, producing perfectly baked cakes. The strange rising action of your cake may have been a result of the recipe you used or the way the batter was mixed together (perhaps over-creamed).
