Love these tips, thanks! I have definitely had my share of Bundt cake disasters. The worst is my Christmas-tree pan, I had so many tries where the tops of the trees broke off!! Now I use solid shortening with a silicone brush and dust with flour, but I will absolutely try some of the other dusting ideas here. One thing I always do before turning out the cake -- and this is a holdover from my days baking tiered and stacked wedding cakes, is to slice off the top of the cake using a serrated bread knife (it is long enough) even with the top of the pan. This gives a very flat bottom in case the cake rose unevenly, and allows me to sample the cake too.
