Some of my fondest memories are watching my grandma and her 5 sisters get together to make strudel for the day. Can still see my aunt whipping and shopping that dough by hand to get the right texture to stretch. Never saw them cook the filling, just dice the apples, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar, drizzle with melted butter and ROLL! So so very good!!
