A strudel recipe like this was a staple of my mother’s family. When I entered it in the Montana State Fair, one of the women accepting entries asked her co-worker, “Men make beer, right?” Her friend assured her, “Sometimes men make strudel.” The scent of strudel baking is wonderful.
