A recipe (from a 30 year old church recipe book) for poppyseed cake (using a yellow cake mix) calls for 1/2 C of "Crisco oil." I read your information page above, but not sure if this 1/2 C of Crisco oil is in fact calling for liquid form or a solid form spooned out of a Crisco shortening can. And if it is the solid form, would I melt the half cup before adding it into the mix, or add the solid form to the mix before beating it (along with the yellow cake, eggs and water etc)? Thank you.
