Hi Marc. The flour shouldn't make a difference in the color unless you were using whole wheat flour which would make it darker. It sounds like one of them was in a hotter spot in your oven. Were they baked in different pans? Darker colored metal pans or glass or ceramic pans bake hotter than light-colored metal pans, so it helps to lower the oven temperature by 25°F to account for that.
If they were baked in the same pan, we're leaning towards oven hot spots. Annabelle@KAF
