Frosting and cakes tend to get along better if they're both the same temperature. If your frosting is stiff or cold, try warming it up slightly before piping it onto the cake. You can also try warming the cake up slightly before decorating so that the frosting softens just the slightest bit when you pipe it on. You don't want your pretty designs to melt or become disfigured, but it can help the decoration adhere if it melts into the cake just a bit. If this approach doesn't work, you can always consider whipping up a small batch of Royal Icing to use as "glue" to hold all the other decorations on. Good luck and happy baking! Kye@KAF
