I used this recipe today, first time using my stand mixer for my crust. Followed this recipe exactly with the exception of a little alteration. My apple pie was superb with a tender flaky crust! Thank you! No more "by hand" pie crust for me. As for the alteration, the first three tablespoons of water was substituted with vodka the rest of the liquid used was water. I didn't have plain vodka on hand so I used huckleberry vodka. This added a nice little flavor to the crust.
