Lyn, I've started flavoring some of my crusts, too. For apple pie, I sometimes use finely shredded cheddar cheese, or cinnamon in the crust. Have also used a mixture of cinnamon and nutmeg for fruit pies. Don't know why one couldn't use lemon or orange zest in a crust as well. Might have to give that a try soon! Love these places where we can give suggestions and encouragement to one another.
