Glad to see RI Greening here. I have two RI Greening trees here in VT. The apples are the most reliable and last in buckets in the cellar all winter. Like Granny Smiths, they hold their shape in baking but I like the flavor better. I like them best with Roxbury Russets, Northern Spy or Grimes Golden but those don’t last as long. I have a tree that I was told is Porter but it doesn’t bare well. I’m trying to prune it more and bring it back. Porter is renowned as a pie apple. Hope to get some fruit some year.
