Depending on where in the country you live honeycrisp are always going to taste different. The BEST honeycrisp apples can be found in the Minnesota areas as that’s where they were developed at the University of Minnesota. They’re also not as expensive as they are outside of that area. Honeycrisp in the South are outrageous in price and definitely don’t taste like the ones in Minnesota. Just saying…(and I’m not from Minnesota 😉). Personally, I think that you’re probably better off using apples that are indigenous to your area, soil and weather AND taste preference.
