Can't beat old time "Ida Reds"for flavor, shape and so very juicy! The seed pod is very small but, the apple is very big, so you only need to peel 4-5 nice Ida's for a great pie. The one touchy flaw might be they brown easily so, a squeeze of lemon is called for. No biggie, I just love Ida Reds! I wish they were easier to find.
