I live in Lancaster County central PA. Jonagolds were recommended to me for Apple dumplings years ago by a local grower. I've come to love them in pies too. Best when not super ripe. I think they have the perfect mix of flavor and texture. That being said, I look forward to trying different combinations this season! We have small and large markets on every corner in this part of the state so take the time to stop and have a look if you're ever in the area!!
