I couldn't agree more with your preferred apple choice...never heard of Pippin! In Canal Fulton, Ohio (Heard of the Football Hall of Fame?, very close by.) our apple choices are varied with Cortland and Winsap lay favorite baking choices. Better half loves small crisp and juicy (thought he was talking about me! HAHA)
