I grew up with an old Baldwin tree in the yard. The best pie apple still, but a little hard to find. Sometimes I find them in PYO orchards up here in NH 's North Country.
If I find them I'll mix in some Wolf Rivers. Some of my best finds are unnamed from the "lost" trees on former farm lands or old trees I find around old logging camps. My husband laughs at me because I have "my apple trees" on roadsides all over the place.
