I also love the Pippin and even here in California, they are hard to come by. The Granny Smith just doesn't have the same flavor and tartness. The sweet eating apples are ok but give me a Pippin for apple pie any day. ( if you can find them). So many of the above mentioned apples, l have never heard of and am sorry that they may have been lost in commercial shipping issues.
