I agree about Paula Reds. When we lived in NH, I used them plus Macs and Cortlands--and we felt they were almost as good as Gravenstein pies. But now that I'm back in Washington, first thing we did was plant two dwarf Gravenstein trees--and I tease our son that the resulting pies are why we're ALWAYS invited to his and his friends' Thanksgiving dinners!
