Thank you so much for all your tips and for the Cinnamon bun apple pie recipe - I can’t wait to try it!!! I also wanted to add a comment about the different apples for Apple pie. My ex- Mother-in-Law who was an incredible pie maker taught me how to make apple pies, most specifically pie crust. I have been making my apple pies for many years now with very favorable results, however the last three or so Apple pies have turned out completely mushy! I always have used Granny Smith apples and have always had great results ..... I really don’t know what the problem was the last few times. I did decide to try a new Apple. I researched online and found a list that included about ten apples which included “Pink Lady” apples. I made an apple pie for our Christmas dinner with mostly the Pink Lady apples and a couple of Granny Smith apples! I have to report that the Pink Lady apples are my new favorite! They are very, very tasty, hold their shape, they aren’t mushy in the least bit - I loved the pie and my husband did as well! I would love to try some of the apples that you mentioned in your list of apples to use for pie however many of them, I have never seen in our grocery stores in the western U.S. I am very happy now that I’ve found my new favorite apple! Again, thank you for all your tips!😊
