I’m with you on the Macouns! I love them... but they do seem to have a short season! I also love to bake with Macintosh apples... I don’t like my apples crisp in a pie, and Macs and Macouns both have the ability to get soft and still keep their shape until you start to eat them. Yum!! I’m from Vermont... but grew up in New York. I think our region has a very fixed taste in pie texture!!
