Hi Jacquelyn. While you could experiment with using egg wash, not all breads will benefit from that (such as crusty, artisan style loaves that are baked at high temperatures). The egg wash may cause the crust to brown too quickly before it is fully baked. We would recommend sticking to a light misting of water when stenciling.
