"No cup is the same." Actually, the term "cup" as used in recipes doesn't refer to tableware, it's a specific volume and is a standardized unit; any quality measuring cup will have the same volume. (I've found some cheap Chinese ones that can be off by as much as 10%, but good measuring cups by Pyrex, OXO, etc. are very accurate.) 1 cup = 236.59 millilitres.
