Hmm, it does sound like things are a little wonky, Barbara. It wouldn't hurt to take a quick look through our Bread Machine FAQ's page and Zojirushi Programming Tips page just to see if there's something that may have been missed. Zojirushi also has a fantastic Customer Service team and they're able to really dig into questions related to specific machines, so we'd recommend calling them at 800-733-6270 if our help-pages don't hold the answers you need.
