I came across a blog which noted the same problem. There solution was when you cut each roll (and I cut with dental floss as I find it easier to get a clean cut and dough doesn’t stick everywhere), you pinch one end of the roll to roughly seal the bottom swirls. Then the filling doesn’t leak out whilst it cooks. Works like a charm.
